Bycatch trend and its fate of the Spanish-owned tuna purse seiners fleet from the Atlantic and Indian oceans: Impacts of the implementation of good practices.

This study analyzes bycatch trends in the tropical tuna purse seine fishery (2003–2022), highlighting improvements in shark and ray live-release rates after 2014 due to conservation measures. However, discard rates for species like billfish increased, and certain coastal areas were identified as bycatch hotspots.
